Understanding the system
What is it?
The system is an online bookmarking system where you can store your favorite bookmarks.
Instead of having them saved on you local computer you can access them from everywhere.
The system is designed to be very flexible,
letting you view things from different angles and let you do things in more than one way.
What can you do with it?
- Browse yours and others' bookmarks
- Post new bookmarks
- Tag bookmarks with Tags
- Vote on bookmarks and the tags used on bookmarks
- Create mappings between Topics by defining relations
- Add other users as your friends
What are the main concepts?
- Tag
The tag is a label that you attach to a resource. Similar to the yellow card category found in traditional libraries.
- Bookmark
A bookmark is a placeholder for a hyperlink. The bookmark is a metaphorical representation of the bookmark when reading books and keeping track of where you are.
So next time you open the book you can go directly into the page you were last reading.
- Books
Books are representation of any paper or electronic book.
- Newsfeeds
Newsfeeds are RSS or other syndicated content.
- Members
All users with fuzzzy accounts are members.
- Vote
Members can vote on other users, on tags, bookmarks etc.
